John Walton is a registered member of the Association for Project Safety. John has recently passed the APS examination designed to show competence in the 2015 CDM Regulations. He is qualified by examination to act as a CDM Advisor. John Walton RMaPS2015 can help as a CDM advisor and in the role of “Principal Designer”.

We offer our CDM Advisor service to clients procuring construction work. Frequently use of our service is arranged through architectural practices, project managers, surveyors, consulting engineers, local authorities and housing associations.

As CDM Advisor John Walton acts as the key project advisor for all construction health and safety risk management matters. We are able to advise and assist you on the following construction health and safety risk management matters:

• the appointment of competent designers and contractors
• the adequacy of your management arrangements
• the co-ordination of proper health and safety aspects of the design process
• the facilitating of good communication and co-operation between project team members
• the preparation of the health and safety file

As CDM Advisor John Walton fulfils the following essential duties:

• notifying details of the project to HSE (when required)
• co-ordination of health and safety aspects of design work
• identifying, collecting and passing on pre-construction information
• liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work
• advising and assisting the client in understanding their duties in regard to construction health and safety risk management
• facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors
• preparing and updating the health and safety file
